Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Can I use a normal tea light candle in my memorial candle?

A: NO!  The heat of the hot wax and flame will ruin you candle.  It will cause your candle to melt from the inside-out ultimately disfiguring your candle and causing the dyes to run.  The insides of these candles have been removed and are intended to be used with flameless battery operated tea lights, not real candles.

Q: How do a request a candle?

A: Please fill out the form on the “Request a Candle” page.

Q:  How much do these candles cost?

A:  I would like to share Ethan’s light and story with as many people as I can.  I also understand that losing a child can bring financial hardship to many families.  For this reason my goal is to provide a candle to as many families as I can free of charge.  However, there is a donation link on the site for those families that are able to donate.  The more donations we receive, the more candles we can send out to grieving families.

Q:  I would love to have an extra candle for a family member, is this possible?

A:  Yes.  I would like to provide as many mothers and fathers with candles of their angels as I can free of charge.  However at this point due to shipping and material cost I am unable to provide this service to extended family members.  However, you may purchase additional candles for $20 apiece plus the cost of shipping.  I will try my hardest to keep the prices of these candles to a minimum so that many people can share in the light that their angels bring.

Q:  I have received my candle but there is a problem, what should I do.

A:  If there are any problems with your candle, or you have any comments on how to improve the candle or the process of distributing them to families, your feedback is greatly appreciated!  You can always contact me, I would love to hear from you.  Thanks for your help and patience as we start this service.

Q: I would like to add something different to my candle, is this possible?

A: Due to the time constraints of making these candles and my desire to make as many candles as I can, I would prefer to offer minimal options.  However, if there is something that is very important that you would like to add to your candle please let me know, and I will do my best to make it happen.

Q:  I love my candle and would love to give a candle as a gift to a friend or family member.  Do you make other types of candles?

A:  Yes.  I have made candles for a variety of occasions such as weddings, first communions, graduations, and inspirational candles.  I would love to work with you in creating your perfect candle.  I am working on a portfolio page and some sample pricing, but it is not currently on the site.  If you are interested please contact me.
